A local partnership with a non-profit company, Launch Financial Education Society (Launch Okanagan), is powering up to help Ïã¸ÛÍõÖÐÍõÂÛ̳×ÊÁÏ students boost their financial literacy this spring. Starting March 2, Ïã¸ÛÍõÖÐÍõÂÛ̳×ÊÁÏ students will benefit from a free financial literacy program hosted online by Launch Okanagan. Enactus’ FruitSnaps transitions into social enterprise

The award-winning Enactus initiative FruitSnaps is now running as a social enterprise after the student-run team recently launched apple juice boxes. The direct result of an abundant number of apples over the fall semester, the five-litre boxes of fresh apple juice are now available locally and online for purchase. All proceeds go back into the program and help to keep it sustainable. A group of Ïã¸ÛÍõÖÐÍõÂÛ̳×ÊÁÏ business students are putting the call out for volunteers from Ïã¸ÛÍõÖÐÍõÂÛ̳×ÊÁÏ and the community to help them harvest fruit that will be used to make healthy snacks for children and others in need. Ïã¸ÛÍõÖÐÍõÂÛ̳×ÊÁÏ alumnus, Drew Vincent knew he wanted to bring the community together during a global quarantine. His challenge: how to hold an in-person online and still generate the kind of participation needed. His ingenuity and the community’s generosity yielded results that surpassed expectations. GreenScreen is bigger than just a technology recycling program. It’s about people and helping build connections. An initiative launched by Ïã¸ÛÍõÖÐÍõÂÛ̳×ÊÁÏ’s Enactus team in 2019, the project works to repurpose technology such as phones, laptops and tablets, saving them from the landfill and connecting them with families in need.
